The Great Community Clean Up on Western Avenue was a wonderful opportunity for neighbors and students alike to take pride in our neighborhood by cleaning up Western Ave. Thank you to all of our eager volunteers who met bright and early on a beautiful day, Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 8:30am. Everyone got outfitted with eye popping yellow tee shirts for safety, collected water and equipment and fanned out to clean up.
Between the two Neighborhood Council areas of Central and Southwest, the results were spectacular! We cleaned 3.1 miles on Western from Slauson to 108th Street and removed 3.25 tons of trash with the help of more than 100 volunteers.
Thank you to our partners: Councilmember Marqueece Harris-Dawson, LA Sanitation, LAPD, AADAP, LA Conservation Corps, Korean Youth Community Center, Coalition for Responsible Community Development and the Empowerment Congress Southwest.
