The Mayor was on hand with Councilmember Marqueece Harris-Dawson at our tree planting on Saturday, October 26 at the corner of Normandie & Vernon. We were also blessed by the participation of Barack Obama Global Prep Middle School students, Koreatown Youth and Community Center volunteers and lots of community participants. Together we planted 15 trees along Vernon between Normandie & Western. The Korean Youth and Community Center will water the trees to get them established.

Also out cleaning up on Saturday in their orange vests was Much62 Helping Hands who received a Neighborhood Purposes Grant from ECCANDC to complete a month-long clean up of alleys within Area 1 for the month of October.

ECCANDC Chair Robert Campbell and Co-Chair Ellen Pace got in on the tree planting action and welcomed participants on behalf of ECCANDC. Thank you to everyone who jumped in to make our community more beautiful!
