Our girls got to do fun art projects, yoga, self defense, sports, dance and more while discussing issues they care about, making friends with other girls and program leaders, and learning empowering skills.
The home is to house 100 men, women and their pets temporarily and provide 24 x 7 services to get them permanently housed. The facility will feature modular construction and is expected to be ready June 2019. Outreach Chair Ellen Pace said, "We are looking forward to helping our homeless neighbors get off the streets."
The Bureau of Street Services will be in our area completing small asphalt repairs on potholes April 17, 2019. If you have seen an area that needs attention, please send the address and description of the problem by April 6.

In partnership with the Bureau of Sanitation, Council District Eight assisted families who were living in Recreational Vehicles (RVs) in the industrial area south of Western and Slauson. The area was cleaned up and RV inhabitants were provided relocation assistance alongside other social services.
