Empowerment Congress Central proudly supported the Community STEPS program for Go Hoop Day June 23, 2018. Kids signed up in three divisions: 8-10, 11-13, and 14-16 years old. They all got cool Go Hoop Day t-shirts with a 23 on the back to commemorate June 23rd as a day to celebrate basketball worldwide.
Board Members Robert Campbell, Natisha Francis and Ellen Pace were on hand with other volunteers to make the day run smoothly.
Kids warmed up with practice shots, stretching, and jogging. They had the opportunity to participate in a dance off and two competed and won basketballs as prizes from City Councilmember Marqueece Harris-Dawson. Participants then played three on three tournament games and won trophies. What a fun day!
