News from Councilmember Marqueece Harris-Dawson for November 2018

In the Southwest, the Eighth District worked closely with the Department of Transportation to continue to add needed infrastructure to improve safety on city streets. Through this partnership, the city installed new stop signs at the intersections of 76th Street / Budlong Avenue and 89th Street / Ruthelen Street. Also, in the Southwest, most streets in the Vermont Knolls community were resurfaced.

In the Central area, the Western corridor near Slauson and Florence received major tree trimming work. Additionally, after a year of arduous work, the Department of Water and Power is finalizing the sewer rehabilitation project located at Slauson Avenue and Van Ness Avenue. The Council Office is grateful for the community’s patience during these disruptions as we build a better community.
