The Mayor was on hand with Councilmember Marqueece Harris-Dawson at our tree planting on Saturday, October 26 at the corner of Normandie & Vernon. We were also blessed by the participation of Obama Middle School students, Koreatown Youth & Community Center volunteers and lots of community participants. Volunteers from the community were joined by local students, passersby and ECCANDC Co-Chairs Rev. Campbell and Ellen Pace in picking up trash next to the library and in the nearby surrounding community, with an emphasis on smaller items that could easily make their way through storm drains out to the ocean.
"We at ECCANDC are thrilled to have this facility in our area helping to get our homeless back on their feet." said ECCANDC Co-Chairperson Ellen Pace.
