Los Angeles Standard Newspaper highlighted the STEPS Program at Harvard Park on May 8, 2018. They shared how the program is intended to bring together the community and law enforcement to improve safety. Not only do LAPD officers walk with neighbors on the 2nd and 4th Saturday mornings, but they also coach youth sport teams.
On April 28, instead of a walk, we had a clean up and on Saturday, May 12, instead of a walk, we will have a ride. Bikes. Skateboards. Anything with wheels.
The event also offers health screenings, which is has not only been beneficial to the community, but to the officers too. Support Los Angeles Standard Newspaper and read their article to find out what Officer Whitehead (shown above) learned from his health screening and what he has done about it.
